EPICo² proudly announces that, in partnership with developer Storm, financial close was reached for a new wind farm in Rumillies. It is an important step in making the province of Hainaut more sustainable: thanks to the project, 8,500 households will be able to use renewable electricity.

The Rumillies wind farm will be located in the municipality of Tournai, in an agricultural area alongside the E42 and parallel to the E429. The project consists of three Nordex wind turbines, each with a rotor diameter of 131 meters, a hub height of 114 meters, and a maximum capacity of 3.9 MW per turbine. Annual output is expected to reach 32,722 MWh of renewable electricity. Construction works will begin shortly, and the park is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2027.

Active role in energy transition

“With this investment, EPICo² reaffirms its active role in the energy transition. Strong expected annual energy production, combined with local citizen participation through a cooperative, reflects our commitment to sustainable energy and positive social impact,” says Tom Mortier of EPICo².
