Financial close of Pyxiscollege in Lanaken
- 18-12-2025
Today, the financing process was completed for the realization of the Pyxiscollege in Lanaken. The Aurora consortium, consisting of investors EPICo² and Rebel together with contractors Democo and Van Roey, will design, build, finance, and maintain the school for 30 years.
The buildings of the Heilig Hartcollege will be demolished, after which a new building will be constructed on the 1-hectare site to accommodate approximately 1,000 students from three merging educational institutions: Technisch Instituut Sparrendal, Sint Vincentiusmiddenschool, and Heilig Hartcollege. The new school will be a flexible, multifunctional, and expandable educational building for various grades and types of education, according to a design by OM/AR Architects and dbv-architecten.
The project is part of a series of nearly 40 school buildings being realized by the consortium across Flanders, with a construction cost of over 300 million euros. Each project is a public-private partnership (PPP) for the construction or renovation as well as the 30-year maintenance of the school buildings.
During the works, approximately 300 students will have classes at the sites of the other schools.
